The CD-R tray feeder simply clicks into position, once fitted the clear Perspex slider has to be pushed all the way back. The CD-R tray slides in a grove and you must ensure that the two side arrows line up with the arrows on the feeder. I will test the quality of printing onto CD's later in the review. I liked the inclusion of a 8cm mini CD-R holder, this also has a business card CD-R aperture. In case you have not seen these CD's, they are the size of normal business cards and can be used to store mini portfolios or boring financial details for business users. They can played on most CD players. Canon have not included a template for this size in their CD-Label Print software, but the option to print to this media is in place for the future.

Fitting the Photo tray was also straightforward, the unit simply clicks into position. To print 6x4 photos you have to load your paper (lift the cover first) turn the large knob counter clockwise and the paper caddy drops into position. The Photo tray can be left in position whilst printing on A4 or other media sizes, it is only activated when the paper caddy has been lowered. To remove the Photo tray press the button on the bottom right of the Photo tray unit and lift. I didn't see much point in this button as the unit could easily removed by a slight forward and up pull.

Both the accessories are no doubt a welcome bonus for Canon printers. The construction is perhaps not robust enough for heavy duty work or for use in an office environment, but for home use there shouldn't be any problem.
